With Shinkansen from Tokyo, doable as a one day trip. Arrived at Ueda station at 7.50 AM in time for the bus to Dabosu leaved at 8.15 AM. From Dabosu (arrived at 9.10 AM) walked to the entrance of the trail for about 3.5 km. Paid a fee just for walking on the road up to the entrance... searching for money under heavy rain was not the best. Not a good weather but satisfied to have made it during rainy season!!
