Hiked up early in the morning from Kamikochi (上高地), it's possible to get there by night bus from Shinjuku (Tokyo). Yake dake is the sole live volcano in North Alps of Japan, before climbing check the eruption alert level, if it's 1 you can make it!!! From the summit a stunning view on the volcanic lake that lies between the North Summit and the South Summit.
